Hi guys! Welcome to Cantonese Weekly Words! Today we are going to talk about Vegetables, 蔬菜 (so1 coi3) “vegetables”.
1. 洋蔥 (joeng4 cung1) "onion"
洋蔥炒蛋 (joeng4 cung1 caau2 daan2) "pan-fried onions with egg"
2. 蒜頭 (syun3 tau4) "garlic"
"I like eating garlic." 我鍾意食蒜頭。 (ngo5 zung1 ji3 sik6 syun3 tau4.)
3. 粟米 (suk1 mai5) "corn"
今日啲粟米好平。 (gam1 jat6 di1 suk1 mai5 hou2 peng4.) "Corn is really cheap today."
4. 蕃薯 (faan1 syu2 / syu4) "sweet potato” or “yam"
There is a very delicious Cantonese dessert, it’s kinda like a soup, it’s very healthy for your body and it’s very delicious, try it if you have a chance.
"sweet potato with ginger" 蕃薯糖水 (faan4 syu2 tong4 seoi2) *or (faan4 syu4 tong4 seoi2)
5. 蘑菇 (mo4 gu1) "mushroom"
我好鍾意食蘑菇呀! (ngo5 hou2 zung1 ji3 sik6 mo4 gu1 aa3!) "I love eating mushrooms!"
