Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Cantonese Season 1, Lesson 13 - Who Is It? In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask who someone is in Cantonese.
Body
Eric: First we will learn how to ask 'Who is it?' in Cantonese.
Olivia: [Normal] 邊個呀?(bin1 go3 aa3)
Eric: First is a word meaning 'Who'
Olivia: [Normal] 邊個 [Slow] 邊個 (bin1 go3)
Eric: Last is the final particle.
Olivia: [Normal] 呀 [Slow] 呀(aa3)
Eric: Listen again to the question meaning 'Who is it?'
Olivia: [Slow] 邊個呀? [Normal] 邊個呀?(bin1 go3 aa3)
Eric: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the way to ask, 'Who is that?'
Olivia: [Normal] 嗰位係邊個呀?(go2 wai2 hai6 bin1 go3 aa3)
Eric: First is a pronoun meaning 'That person'
Olivia: [Normal] 嗰位 [Slow] 嗰位 (go2 wai2)
Eric: Next is the verb meaning 'is'
Olivia: [Normal] 係 [Slow] 係(hai6)
Eric: Next is the pronoun meaning 'who'
